The Typical Mistake is an all-English-language radio show broadcast from Buenos Aires since 1999. Our topics have ranged as diverse as Babylonian mythology and homosexual pirates in the 1700s; medieval troubadours and modern-day devil worshipping; Soviet drilling towards the center of the Earth and the culture of weddings around the world. Some of our co-hosts have been scientists, professors, chefs, journalists, professional poker players, world travelers, and jazz singers. Some of our guests have been entomologists (insect specialists) talking about flying spiders, Scottish bagpipers playing live, a host of Ambassadors and diplomats telling us mesmerizing stories about their countries, or just plain weird people. Anything to entertain you, dear listener. Our audience is made up of English-speakers in Buenos Aires, Argentines who want to learn and improve their English, and a growing number of masochists in countries such as Australia, Scotland, Canada, the US, the Philippines, and anywhere where the long hand of the internet has coupled with intense (yet relievable) boredom.

Guillermo Rubens: host, producer, and water-carrier since 1999. A teacher and translator by trade; he is also the lyricist in William Gray and an editor at the Overheard family. He has done voices for animation, written publicity, and other endeavors about which he is too embarrassed to link.

Shazz Molokomme from South Africa has worked in radio in her native country as well as in the USA. She speaks seven languages fluently and is currently learning Spanish in Buenos Aires. When she is not travelling the world in an attempt to take over the global media industry, she enjoys extreme sports.

The third member of the team, Arthur Girling, is also a recent arrival in Argentina, this time from the UK. He has worked as a journalist and environmental campaigner in the UK and Spain. He likes cycling, making films and can play 'The Final Countdown' on the clarinet.
